My nephew once told my sister she had to “push through it” when he wanted her to do something she was reluctant to do. His advice has come to me several times this month, as I have had to push through things in my business. I value balance and often maintain it. But, I am in a time now where a lot needs to be done. The way to maintain my balance now is “to push through it”. I am putting more time and attention to my business. If I did not, I would soon find pressures and problems that would upset my balance in bigger ways. So, I am hunkering down and doing what I need to.

I often look to the seasons as indicators in my life. Summer, a time of blossoming, fall a time of reaping, winter a time of hibernation. This fall as we approach winter, something seems different. In many ways, the world, as well as my own life, is in a place of renewal-the way I usually look at spring. There seems to be an awakening occurring. I am creating new services and strategies to introduce this winter. No sense of a coming hibernation here!
How do you pace yourself with life speeding all around you?
You hold on.
With autumn, there seems to be a faster speed to things. This is natural after summer, however I am finding life going faster than usual. As a manager, speed affects you in many ways: getting your own work done, managing the work of your team and managing your own and your team’s responses and reactions to the speed. As speed increases, often the best response is to slow down and center, take a look at what’s happening and then decide how you will deal with the speed.
